Welcome to the New Hampshire Soap Box Derby’s Official Web Site!  In our 66th year, the NHSBD is a youth racing event that is open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 through 17 that reside in the State of New Hampshire.

This is a unique program in that it encourages close parent-child activities while building and racing the car. The construction of the gravity race car reinforces the importance of setting and completing goals while developing traits such as self-confidence, perseverance and craftsmanship. Parents can learn new abilities while teaching children proper use of tools. The youth is encouraged to do as much of the work as their level permits.

The 66th Annual New Hampshire Soap Box Derby  will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Dover, NH.  The winners of each Division received an all-expense paid trip to represent New Hampshire in the 72nd All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio, the week of July 20 through July 25, 2009.

In addition, Rally races are held at various times throughout the spring, summer, and fall at different locations around the State of New Hampshire and New England. Our rally races allow you to accumulate All-American Soap Box Derby Rally Points which could earn you the right to compete in the All-American’s World Rally Championship held during the same week in July.
